一.理念
音は其の在り様によりて、我らは無より生じて無に帰ること、然れども無より何ものかを生ぜしむること能はざるを教ふ。
音を真摯に学び、其の術技を絶えず修練することによりて、己が存在を音そのものに近づけゆくを覚ゆるは、ただ芸を深むるのみにあらず、人としての根源を省みしめ、より善き道へと導き、やがては宇宙の摂理そのものに近づくこととならむ。
是れ、すなはち本流派の目指すところなり。
二.修行教程
初
イ. 自然体、呼吸、ならびに聴く意識の基礎の習得
ロ. 強弱、色、音程等あらゆる音の出し方、ならびにそれらを操る諸技の習得
ハ. 心身の整え方、空間の捉え方、ならびに音と意識の繋がり方の基礎の習得
中
イ. 骨主肉従と抜力、内動による身体操作、ならびに丹田操作による呼吸の習得
ロ. 音の連なりの機能を捉え音楽を奏でる方法の習得、ならびに必然なる表現の会得
ハ. 己の意識と音の合一、ならびにその拡張の基礎の習得

イ. 梵我一如の呼吸、ならびに楽器(音具)と身体の一体化の会得
ロ. 無為自然の音楽と創造的態度の会得、ならびに全部平等たる音の扱いの心得の習得
ハ. 己と音の合一、ならびに無我にして音となる境地の会得

完全口伝にて伝承す
三.門人心得
一、音は己がためにあらず、世に仕ふるものと知るべし。
一、日々の修練を軽んずることなく、心・身・息を常に調ふべし。
一、強きを競はず、巧みを誇らず、必然なる音を求むべし。
一、教へを言葉にのみ留めず、全身全霊をもって悟るべし。
一、奥を求むるほど、初を忘るることなかれ。
生涯未熟にして、修行を尽くすべき身なれども、ここに創流を宣言す。

Iwakawa-ryū
Oto-Jutsu (Art of Sound) Fue-Gi (Technique of the Flute)
Samuke-Kai
I. Principle
By the manner in which sound exists, we are taught that we arise from nothingness and return to nothingness; yet we are also taught that we ourselves are incapable of bringing forth anything from nothingness alone.
By sincerely studying sound and ceaselessly refining its techniques, we come to sense that our own existence is gradually drawn closer to sound itself.
This is not merely the deepening of an art.
It compels us to reflect upon the very root of our being as human beings, guides us toward a more virtuous path, and, in time, leads us nearer to the very principles that govern the universe.
This, therefore, is the aim to which this school aspires.
II. Course of Discipline
Sho (Initiate)
i. Acquisition of the fundamentals of natural posture, breathing, and the awareness of listening.
ii. Acquisition of all methods of sound production—dynamics, tone color, pitch, and the techniques by which they are governed.
iii. Acquisition of the fundamentals of aligning mind and body, perceiving space, and understanding the connection between sound and awareness.
Chu (Intermediate)
i. Mastery of bodily operation through the principle of bone as master, flesh as servant, the release of unnecessary force, internal movement, and breathing governed by the tanden.
ii. Mastery of the means by which the function of connected sounds is grasped and music is performed, together with the attainment of expression that arises of necessity.
iii. Acquisition of the foundations for the unification of one’s awareness with sound, and for its further expansion.
Ou (Inner Transmission)
i. Attainment of the breath wherein Brahman and the self are one, and the unification of instrument (sound-tool) and body.
ii. Attainment of music that accords with non-action and naturalness, together with a creative attitude, and the understanding of treating all sounds as wholly equal.
iii. Attainment of the unity of self and sound, and of the state in which, free from ego, one becomes sound itself.
Mu (Void)
Transmitted solely by complete oral instruction.
III. Precepts for Disciples
1. Know that sound exists not for oneself, but to serve the world.
2. Never treat daily practice lightly; continually harmonize mind, body, and breath.
3. Do not compete in strength, nor boast of skill; seek the sound that arises of necessity.
4. Do not confine teachings to words alone; realize them with one’s entire being.
5. The deeper you seek the inner teachings, the more you must never forget the beginning.
Though I remain unripe throughout my life, a being who must exhaust himself in discipline,
I hereby declare the founding of this school.
