Hikaru Quena

 

The rich and powerful sound of the Hikaru Quena blends perfectly with modern musical instruments like piano, saxophone or violin and also symphonic orchestra.

Without losing the characteristics of the traditional sounds of this instrument, Hikaru Quena is incredibly balanced in all the registers of 3 octaves and more, especially in the lower register, has really strong tones by having wide square blowing edge, open tube and well-designed inner bore.

From the selection of the material to the details of the construction, Hikaru Quena is made-to-order by the master Hikaru Iwakawa especially for the customer.

 

Bamboo:

Carefully selected and seasoned materials are fundamental for making good instruments. Hikaru Quena is made of Medake Bamboo from Yamagata (Japan) that has ideal texture and density.

Wood: 

Also carefully selected and seasoned especially for good quenas. The making always goes depending on the stock and doing the best choices then.

 

Tuning:

Hikaru Quena is always tuned and tested strictly by the master Hikaru Iwakawa at least for 10 days.

「Hikaru Quena​」はケーナの概念を覆す可能性を持った楽器です。

その力強く豊かな音は、ピアノやサクソフォン、ヴァイオリンといった現代の楽器、はたまたオーケストラとも完璧に溶け合うことができるでしょう。

伝統的なケーナの音色の個性を失うことなく、全音域において信じがたいほどバランスが取れた設計を実現。特にこの楽器の欠点であった低音域での力不足はすっかり解消され、パワフルに鳴り響きます。

その秘密は広く深い四角型の特別な歌口、綿密に設計された開放管です。

「Hikaru Quena​」はその材料の選定から製作のすべてを岩川光自身が行います。また、お客様によるセミ・カスタマイズ製作が可能ですので、手の大きさ、演奏家として個性、好みなどを反映したあなただけの楽器が出来上がります。

竹は日本の山形県産を主として使用。

木材も楽器用に厳選され、丁寧に乾燥された材を用います。在庫状況は常に変動します。

調律は岩川光が10日以上かけて試奏しながら、厳密に行います。

El sonido potente, profundo y vivo de Hikaru Quena combina perfectamente con instrumentos musicales modernos como piano, saxofón o violín y también con orquesta sinfónica.

Sin perder las características de los sonidos tradicionales de este instrumento, Hikaru Quena está increíblemente equilibrado en todos los registros de 3 octavas y más, especialmente en el registro bajo, tiene tonos muy fuertes al tener bisel especial (cuadrado, amplio y profundo) y tubo abierto con el diseño bien calculado.

Desde la selección del material hasta los detalles de la construcción, Hikaru Quena se hace a pedido por el maestro Hikaru Iwakawa, especialmente para el cliente.

 

Bambú:

Los materiales cuidadosamente seleccionados y estacionados son fundamentales para hacer buenos instrumentos. Hikaru Quena está hecha de bambú Medake de Yamagata (Japón) que tiene una textura y densidad ideales.

Maderas: 

También bien seleccionadas, cuidadas y estacionadas. La fabricación va siempre dependiendo del stock, haciendo la mejor y óptima desición entonces.

 

Afinación:

Hikaru Quena siempre es afinado y probado estrictamente por el maestro Hikaru Iwakawa por más de 10 días.

■Wooden models are made basically in 2 pieces (head and body joints) for regular tuning and further more perfect details. You may choose a wood from which would be your instrument made; Maple, Purple heart, Bubinga, Rosewood, or Ebony, etc. (the price should be varied depending on wood.)

■チューニングとより完璧に近い細かな調整のため、木製モデルは基本的に頭部・本体からなる2本継ぎ仕様です。メープルやパープルハート、ブビンガやローズウッド、黒檀などからお好みに合わせて木材を選択できます。（木材により価格は変動します。）
